Nordic Skiing

Blind and visually impaired skiers competes in the same sports like fully sighted skiers: in slalom, giant slalom, downhill and supergiant. In this sports ae applied International Skiing Federation rules with small changes, which made IBSA and Paralympic Comitee(IPC). In mountain skiing participates all B categories (B1, B2, B3). In IPC and IFS organized competitions all three classes competes together, using different visual impairment factors. Blind skiers participates in all Paralympic games and world championships since 1970.

Guide

Visual guide helps blind or visually impaired skier to orient in distance. Pair works like team – if anybody of them gets disqualified or cannot reach the finish line – the whole team resigns.

Communication

The latest technologies and blind skiing goes together. To orient blind skier can be used a speaker , but modern technologies offers a new electronic system , what guide wraps around the waist. Cross- country skiing

Penalty for each unshooted target can be as a time penalty, which is added to the common time, or penalty lap for each unshooted target.
